The Met Office’s latest weather predictions reveal a clear divide between the sunny South and soggy North in the next few days.
Temperatures in parts of the UK are set to reach figures higher than the Greek island of Crete this weekend.
But in other areas, a yellow weather warning is in place for rain.
The warning is in place from noon on Friday until late Saturday night for parts of Scotland.
The warning reads: “Rain will affect many parts of Scotland on Friday and Saturday, this will be heaviest and most persistent across western parts of the country highlighted by the warning area.

“Rainfall amounts across the two days are likely to be 30-50mm in low lying areas, with 50-100mm over higher ground.
“The wettest conditions are expected to be across the West Highlands where 100-150mm is possible, perhaps in excess of this in a few isolated sites.
“This will come after rain (heavy at times) on preceding days, hence an increased risk of seeing some disruption or other impacts.”
However, it is a different story for the southernmost parts of the country.
Parts of the UK will be basking in temperatures well into the 20C with London expected to hit between 24C and 26C.
This stands in stark contrast to not only the northern reaches of Scotland, but also holiday destinations such as Crete – which will only be reaching a high of 21C.
These parts of the UK will be far exceeding the average temperature for October, which comes in at just 13C, according to the Met Office.
Met Office spokesman Stephen Dixon said: “An unseasonably warm spell is likely for those in the south of the UK as we head towards the weekend.

“That being said in the next couple of days there are periods of rain moving in from the west on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
“There is some rain around as we move through the working week, perhaps those furthest south in England escaping some of those showers.
“In the South East over the weekend we could be getting up to 25 degrees Celsius, possibly touching 26 in some spots, and feeling relatively pleasant in that sunshine through the weekend in the south with some good spells of sunshine likely as well.”
The north of England and parts of Northern Ireland could also see temperatures in the high teens, Mr Dixon said.
