A pair of astronauts have lost a tool bag in space, as video revealed the equipment float off into the deep universe.
Nasa’s Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara had the embarrassing incident on their spacewalk on November 1. The pair spent six hours and 42 minutes outside the International Space Station (ISS) carrying out tasks that included fixing a solar power array.
However, while preparing to work on a communications electronics box, flight controllers spotted a tool bag spinning off into space.
An assessment was quickly made by Nasa to work out whether the kit would smash into the space station.

It was deemed low risk so it was left to drift away. Nasa has not revealed who may have been in charge of the tool bag.
Nasa spokesperson Mark Garcia explains: “During the activity, one tool bag was inadvertently lost. Flight controllers spotted the tool bag using external station cameras.
“Mission Control analyzed the bag’s trajectory and determined that risk of recontacting the station is low and that the onboard crew and space station are safe with no action required.”
After the spacewalk, the pair seemed chuffed with themselves. "This is a very special moment for me, going on my first spacewalk with a good friend and someone I really look up to, Loral," said Moghbeli from inside the airlock.

"I feel the same way about the spacewalk with you," replied O'Hara.
Moghbeli and O'Hara are the second pair of women to conduct an all-female EVA, or Extravehicular Activity.
Three previous spacewalks were performed by NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir in October 2019 and January 2020.
The mission was the 12th ISS spacewalk of the year and the second during Expedition 70.
