Storm Fergus will cause chaos just hours after the devastation of Storm Elin, bringing up to 70mph gusts of wind in some areas.
Today (December 10) Storm Fergus will cause chaos in the southwest of England and most of Wales. The deep area of low pressure will reintroduce some gusty winds, especially in western areas, alongside further rainfall. There are currently 38 flood warnings in England and one flood warning for Wales.
The Met Office has already issued five yellow weather warnings for wind and rain covering most of the country. It was reported yesterday that parts of northern England could see up to 30mm of rain overnight, with a yellow warning in place for an area stretching from Carlisle to Sheffield until Sunday morning.

And there will be no respite as some gusty winds, especially in western areas, alongside further rainfall are on the way with Storm Fergus. The Met Office's sister service in Ireland, Met Éireann, has named both storms yesterday.
The Met Office said the conditions could cause delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, and coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities may be affected by spray and large waves.
It also added that flooding in homes and businesses is “likely”.
That comes as The Environment Agency issued 33 flood warnings for England alone.
Kate Marks, flood duty manager at the Environment Agency, urged people not to drive through flood water.
Power cuts are also being mooted. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Sunday and next week.

Met Office spokesperson Stephen Dixon said yesterday: "We’re in for a wet and windy weekend."
The forecast for today states that rainwill move in from the west becoming heavy particularly across England and Wales.
It will clear eastwards leaving sunny spells in the south by the afternoon. Winds will increase in the south, with gales along western coasts. Temperatures, however, will be above average.
The forecast for tonight states: "Rain across northeast Scotland persisting. Showers continuing to affect western areas, these merging to give longer spells of rain. Otherwise dry with clear spells. Windy with gales across the south."
