The pretty European island that’s warm all year but overshadowed by neighbours

The breathtaking, volcanic, and unheard Canary Island of La Gomera is a perfect spot for tourists looking for mild and warm weather.

Nestled inside the Canary Islands archipelago, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, La Gomera maintains an average temperature of 22C all year round. 

It is the second-smallest of the seven Canary Islands. 

There are a total of eight major islands and more smaller islands, and islets to explore in the Canary Islands.

The smallest of the Canary Islands is La Graciosa, while the largest island is Tenerife. The archipelago has 2 capitals: Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.

 

According to its local website, there are only 20,000 inhabitants in the island which offers more than 370 square kilometres of charm, history and nature.

The picturesque island boasts virgin beaches, secret trails, and beautiful, colourful landscapes making the perfect spot for a winter escape.

Visitors who make it, tend to come on day trips from Tenerife.  Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria are perfect for a longer vacation too.

It is reported that more than 69 thousand people visited the islands of La Gomera and El Hierro in Spain in 2022. 

From beautiful hike trails to gorgeous beaches, the small island has everything to offer.

After exploring the breathtaking wilderness, visitors can go to see the most famous building in La Gomera which has taken social media by a storm.

Mirador de Abrante is situated in the north of La Gomera and is a platform with tall glass walls. 

Several airlines, including British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and Thomson, offer flights to Tenerife South from a range of UK airports.
