Delta to launch Atlanta flights to Santa Barbara and Fresno

Delta will introduce flights from Atlanta to California cities Santa Barbara and Fresno next summer.

The carrier will also launch its first nonstop service between Seattle and Dallas/Fort Worth and begin year-round service in Aspen, Colorado.

Year-round Atlanta-Santa Barbara and Atlanta-Fresno flights will operate daily, beginning June 7. Delta is the first carrier to offer service between either of those city pairs.

On June 8, Delta will start twice-daily Seattle-Dallas flights, competing against robust Alaska Airlines and American Airlines service.

This month, American is scheduled to connect Seattle with its DFW hub an average of 14 times daily, Cirium flight schedule data shows. Alaska is flying the route an average of 12 times daily.

Delta has served Aspen during the winter ski season since 2014, excluding a pause during the pandemic. Next year, the carrier will add daily summer service to augment twice-daily winter service, making the route year-round.

From Los Angeles, Delta has served Aspen in the winter since 2017, pandemic excluded, and also offered summer flights in 2017 and 2018. Like with Atlanta, the carrier will offer year-round Aspen service in 2024.

Delta is the only carrier flying to Aspen from Atlanta and will compete against United and American on its new summer Aspen service.

Delta also will resume several routes next summer that it last operated in the summer of 2021, including Atlanta-Reno and Detroit-Anchorage.
